Wanna Hear It Records is a small, independent vinyl shop in Watertown, Massachusetts, focused on emo, hardcore, indie, metal, punk, and rock’n’roll. Owned by Joey Cahill (also of 6131 Records), the shop is an intimate, community-driven space that emphasizes ties to the music scene. Its shelves feature thoughtfully curated selections of new and used records.

The shop is 98% vinyl with a few boxes of tapes and a shelf of new CDs. Smaller bins that line the front windows are dedicated to 7-inch records. Something fun Wanna Hear It offers is a “Mystery Bag” consisting of ten 7″ for $5, who knows what you’ll get! One wall features new and highlighted LPs while the other hosts a collection of rarities and special offerings. Bins surround the store with two rows in the middle, and all are loaded with great finds, box sets, and limited variants.

The shop celebrated its 5-year anniversary on December 14th, 2025 with a free show at the roughly 100-person capacity Watertown Canadian Club in Watertown, where Women in Peril had their record release, accompanied by Rebuilder and Touché Amoré. In order to attend, you had to go to Wanna Hear It Records and obtain a wristband. Needless to say, the room was absolutely packed-out.
